Newborn Thomas Harris

Bald Eagles over the Tanana River

Caleb Anderson caught this "Bow" Sunday Nov 24, 2002. It was his first ever ice fishing caught trout. He caught it at Lost Lake near Quartz Lake the other day. He was very proud of this fish, he promptly cleaned and had his mother (Connie) cook it for him!  Photo courtesy of Dwight Phillips. 


Vacancy on the Deltana Fire Board of Directors

The Rural Deltana Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors is seeking persons wishing to be appointed to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Wilbur St. John.

This is an unpaid, volunteer position. Meetings are held quarterly and on an as-needed basis.

The Board of Directors oversees the operations of the Deltana Fire Department's grants, budgets, policies, by-laws, assets, etc.

Any interested persons can leave a message by calling 907-895-5036, or by emailing: rural.deltana.vfd@alaskrafts.com 

You can also talk with one of our directors: Louis Stockwell, Kevin Kelly, Steve Fields, Steve McCombs, Connie Ott, or Roger Harris.

The position will be filled at the December 4th meeting at the Clearwater Fire Station.

Remington & Souhrada: Stop signs and flashing lights

Deltana Community Corporation has tabled a motion for putting "Stop Signs & a Flashing Light" at the intersection of Remington and Souhrada. The motion will be re-discussed at the Annual Meeting, Thursday, November 14, 2002, 7:00 PM, at the Clearwater Fire Station. They are requesting community input. Please get back with a board member, come to the meeting, or respond in the Delta News Web forum.
