Pogo mine to spend $10 million-$12 million to fix problem

As reported on Yahoo! Finance, the Pogo gold mine near Delta Junction, has found its capacity to dehydrate tailings is below required levels. To fix the problem, the company will spend an additional $10 million-$12 million.

Until the problem is fixed, the gold mine will be running at 50%-60% capacity. This may delay full operations at Pogo until early in 2007.

This is according to a news release from Sumitomo Metal Mining issued Monday, April 24.
