Sam Tappen scrapes together great meet

Sam Tappen, a junior at Delta High, did great at the all-schools prep track and field meet Saturday at Lathrop High School in Fairbanks. As reported in Sunday’s Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, Tappen and his 19 teammates helped Delta win third place out of the 9 schools in the meet.

Tappen won the long jump competition, placed third in the 100-meter dash and gave his team the lead with a stellar third leg of the 4x400-meter relay before Lathrop came from behind to win.
