Photos of the Day - Memorial Day 2006

This is a traveling display entitled "Eyes Wide Open". There is a pair of boots to represent each of the 2,437 American soldiers killed in Iraq. It is a controversial display as they apparently do not permission from all the family members to display names and items.


I thought this was a fitting picture to "memorialize" those who have served our country.
I took it at the Korean War/Conflict Monument in DC on 5/13/06.
