Missile Defense Sites Proposed in Europe
Poland, the Czech Republic and Great Britain may join Fort Greely and Vandenberg Air Force Base as interceptor missile sites in defense of weapons that could be launched from Iran and the Middle East. Air Force Lt. Gen. Henry A. Obering III said Tuesday that by the end of 2011, plans call for 10 interceptors installed in Europe and as many as 43 interceptors installed at the Alaska and California sites.
