Registration Deadline for the April 3 Special Election
The Division of Elections reminds you that Sunday, March 4, 2007 is the last day to register to vote or update your current voter registration for the statewide Special Election on April 3, 2007.
On April 3, 2007, Alaskans will vote on the following question:
“Shall the legislature adopt a proposed amendment to the state constitution to be considered by the voters at the 2008 general election that would prohibit the state, or a municipality or other subdivision of the state, from providing employment benefits to same-sex partners of public employees and to same sex partners of public employee retirees? YES or NO”
Registration forms are available at any regional elections or municipal clerk’s office, the Division of Motor Vehicles and any local library that offers registration. Registration applications are also available online at the Division of Elections’ website. When registering, remember to bring one form of identification such as a driver’s license, birth certificate, passport, state identification card, or hunting or fishing license.
