Stars of Gold Award Program

(Anchorage) – Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell is pleased to announce that the Faith-Based & Community Initiatives’ Stars of Gold awards ceremony will be held on April 23, 2007, in cooperation with the Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Awards.

The Stars of Gold award program honors those who give freely of their hearts and lives to communities within Alaska. The goal of the award program is to encourage volunteerism statewide, thereby empowering community members to get involved and address social issues, to invest in their neighbors and assist in developing healthy families, and to lay a foundation for a stronger community.

If you know an adult or teen that has benefited their community through compassion, kindness, and volunteerism, please click here and fill out a nomination packet. All nomination forms must be received by March 30, 2007 at 5 pm in order to be considered. Those volunteers will be celebrated at an awards luncheon hosted by Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel.
