A sign of spring - Denali Park road open

No bears have been spotted yet, but due to light snowfall and warmer temperatures, private vehicles will be able to drive as far as the Teklanika River rest area at Mile 30 in Denali Park through May 18. Beginning May 19, the park shuttle bus system will begin providing access beyond the Savage River. The first 15 miles of the park road will be open to private vehicles throughout the summer season.
