Delta Packers Win 1st Game

On Saturday, August 4th, the Delta Packers beat the Fairbanks Cowboys 7-6, giving the Packers their first win since the team formed in 2006. It was a defensive battle from the start, as both teams went into halftime without scoring. In the third quater the Packers struck first on a 3yd run by Caleb McLaren, which was set up by a 15yd interception by Josh Goodart. The extra point gave the Packers a 7-0 lead. The Cowboys later scored, but missed their extra point, putting the game at 7-6. The Cowboys had one more shot to score with under a minute to go in the 4th, but a game saving tackle by Craig Dvorak on 4th down sealed the victory for the Packers.The next game for the Packers is August 11th at 4:30pm against the Fairbanks Bears. Come out and support Packers Football!!
