DNW Calendar Change
Chalk up another frustration with the spammers.
Today we pulled the plug on anonymous Community Calendar submissions. It was possible until today to submit a calendar event without a username and password, but not any more.
The problem was an increasing number of troglodytes (I'm trying to pick a nice epithet, here) that tried to advertise all kinds of ......(searching for another nice word) ..... things on our calendar. The editor has been deleting an increasing number of these -- about 200 in the last few days.
It has been taking enough time that we decided that we just can't do that any more.
What this means is that if you have a calendar event you want to appear in the Community Calendar you'll need an account. That's not much of a problem, just contact us with a proposed username and password, and we'll set up the account so you can post. You can also call 1 (907) 895-4919 during normal business hours (9-5 M-F Alaska time) and we'll set up the account for you.
This is actually better than it sounds because not only will you be able to submit events, you will also be able to edit and delete your events at any time that is convenient for you.
