Community Concert a Smashing Success
Exclusive to Delta News WebOn Wednesday evening, the Library Board of Directors presented Troubadour Bill Staines in concert. 70 plus folks listened in rapt attention tapped their toes and bobbed their heads while Mr. Staines played his guitar, performed his original songs and stories, and even yodeled while performing a Nanci Griffith song entitled Night Rider’s Lament.
The Community Center was beautifully decorated and lighted by members of the Board.
Mr. Staines maintains a rigorous touring schedule, performing 300 times a year. Tonight was his eighth appearance in Alaska, and several of his original songs have an Alaskan topical theme. He is an enchanting performer, drawing his audience in and holding their attention for the entire 2 hour span of his program and a standing ovation/encore.
Thanks to the Library Board for bringing this delightful performer to Delta, thanks to the decorating committee, and thank those of you who attended for supporting live music in Delta Junction!
