Delta-Greely Skating Association to host 4th Dinner Gala
Delta-Greely Skating Association to host 4th Dinner Gala with games, prizes, auction and lots of fun.
On Saturday, November 17 at the Moose Lodge on Jack Warren Road, the Delta-Greely Skating Association will hold their 4th annual fund-raising Dinner Gala and auction. Social hour and viewing of auction items begins at 5 pm with dinner following at 6pm. The auction will begin promptly at 7:30 pm. We promise a fun-filled evening with games of chance and wonderful auction items. We are adding a new twist to the meaning of ice with a Hawaiian theme. See the classified section of the next Delta Wind for what will be auctioned.
Tickets for the Gala Dinner will be $25.00 per person and will be available for purchase soon. The availability of the tickets and where they can be purchased will be announced on fliers around town and on the local radio station. Keep in mind space is limited so only 100 tickets will be sold.
The Association would like to thank all who have contributed by their sponsorship, donation, gift item(s) and volunteer effort. Your support has funded operation costs at the Liewer-Olmstead Arena, boosted the Kit-a-Kid program, provided tournaments, equipped the teams with jerseys, goalie gear and first aide kits, helped improve the concession stand, allowed us to award a scholarship to one of our graduating seniors and most importantly provided over 100 young skaters with a healthy winter activity.
The list of supporters is too large to mention but we would like to acknowledge our sponsors: Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, Buffalo Center Drive-In, Delta Concrete, Ron Liewer, The Trophy Lodge, J&L Ventures, Arctic Fox Safety and Supply, Crossroads Dentistry, Delta Homes, Delta Meat and Sausage, Gene’s Chrysler, Moose Lodge and Polaris Junction.
The arena provides many hours of wholesome recreational fun for the children and adults of our community. This year, the Association hopes to increase the availability of the arena to the community as well as strengthen the existing hockey and figure skating programs. If you would like to donate in some way or become a part of all this fun, speak to any parent with skaters in the program or call Dawn Grossmann at 895-1910 or Rose Edgren at 895-4043.
Respectfully,
Rose Edgren

Hmmm, is this the same group that just raised registration fees to $300.00 per skater after receiving well over a million dollars of federal impact aid?? And the same group that stood up in ire when the local moto-cross group requested $15,000 for THEIR sport?? And persuaded the city council to yank the funding from them??? Hmmm. Perhaps it is time for locals to 'spread the wealth' a bit.
im glad someone said it! that little group is all about me me me !
Hmmm, I understand that the food that was prepared for your party, was made by the 4-H Cooking Club on Fort Greely. Where is the "Thank You" in your column? You have acknowledge everyone else but them. Sad!!!Sad!!!Sad!!!
Where is the love? I think that was truly a nice gesture on their part. People see what your all about, and their right, it is all about me me me.
I too think that was nasty to forget who had to put the food together I beleive that those teens had put all of their time and energy into that project. And the hard work of the Instructor's was something they've probably had to finish. All I have to say is give them some credit!!!
