This community event was made possible by the generosity in part, and among others, of the Fairbanks Community Food Bank, Ed and Gail Larson of Delta Junction IGA market, Alpha Omega Food Pantry, Delta Sing-a-Long, Polar Pickers and Lyrica Music. Some local folks brought delicious side dishes.
Judith, Claudia, Rose, and Colleen cooked for a day and a half, while Patty Jensen peeled hundreds of carrots and potatoes.
The turkey(s) were superb, there was a plethora of choices to go along, including a full table of desserts, for the 75 guests. Many hugs, greetings, conversations and plates later, the seventy-five guests were sated, and returns to the table for refills had slowed to a trickle.
More than a few remained for a sing-a-long in the Senior Lounge following dinner.
It was a grand time of renewal and reunion—please see the photo spread by Carol Watkins on Monday, and other photos today.
Thanks to all who made the Community Dinner a success. We must do it again!
