THE DELTA/GREELY SKATING ASSOCIATION WISHES TO THANK our business community and individuals for your generous contributions toward the Delta/Greely Youth Skating Association’s 4th Annual Fundraiser this past November 17th. The drive was a BIG SUCCESS! There was a wonderful crowd of supporters at the dinner along with fabulous gifts from so many. Thank you hockey Moms, Martha Kimball, Misty McClendon, Mel Moritz, Nickole Porter, Sherry Smith and Kaoru Warren for your efforts to solicit, advertise, set up, decorate and entertain. A special appreciation to Randy Peterson and his family for their auctioneer services, the Family Moose Lodge 911 for hosting the Gala and the Ft. Greely 4-H Youth Cooking Club for preparations on a delicious meal. And thank you sponsors and donators!

There is a great deal of volunteer effort that goes into preparing the rink for the skating season. Thank you to Al Edgren, Bob Kimball, Steve McCombs and Bill Smith for making ice; the High School Hockey Team for laying out matts and setting down lines; Mel Moritz and Diane Schultz for gearing up the 36 skaters through the Kit-a-Kid program and to the many others who have worked to get our skating season off to a GREAT start. The members are thankful for your generous time and selfless efforts.

The Association would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the City of Delta Junction for the improvements to the Liewer-Olmstead Arena. We are planning an “Open House” on January 5th 2008. There will be a variety of activities for the enjoyment of our community
