Donnelly Training Area East Mobility and Maneuver - Public Meeting

DONNELLY TRAINING AREA EAST MOBILITY AND MANEUVER
ENHANCEMENT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT and DRAFT FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT

The U.S. Army Garrison, Alaska has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI) for three proposed mobility and maneuver enhancements at Donnelly Training Area (DTA) East, Alaska. The proposed enhancements would meet Army training missions and allow for continued sustainable military use of DTA East. The enhancements would improve training facilities by increasing opportunities for paratroopers to conduct formational tactics and by providing a sustainable trail network and a hardened bivouac area for unit training. The EA evaluates the potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed projects.

The EA and Draft FNSI can be viewed at http://www.usarak.army.mil/conservation/. A paper copy is also available for review at the Noel Wien Fairbanks North Star Borough Public Library in Fairbanks and at the Delta Community Library in Delta Junction.

A Public Meeting will be held on December 13th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Delta Junction Community Center, 2291 Deborah Street. A presentation will be given at 6:30 p.m.
