Sing Your Heart Out in the "Winter Edition" Cabaret!
FAIRBANKS – Learn to sing the songs you know and love -- in a nurturing atmosphere! If your time is limited in the summer, and you’ve always wanted to try singing in the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival cabaret class, here’s your opportunity! The Festival invites you to participate in one week of evening Cabaret classes as part of the 2008 “ACS Winter Edition.” The classes are open to all who love to sing, ages 16 and up! No previous training necessary. Each class is open to the first 12 people to register.
Evening classes will be held beginning Monday, January 28 through Friday, Feb. 1. Choose from 5:30-7:30 pm or 8:00-10:00 pm, whatever works for your schedule! No audition is required, and no prior experience is necessary, but registrants must bring sheet music for one song they have memorized.
Registration fee is $125 and registration forms can be printed out from the Festival's web site www.fsaf.org (click on “winter edition”) or by calling Jo Scott at 474-8869. You can also register the first night at the rehearsal.
Can’t make the class, but want to enjoy the music? Attend the Cabaret Performance, Saturday evening, February 2 at 7:30 pm in the beautiful Northern Latitudes Room at the Westmark Hotel. The performance is open to the public and will feature music by the cabaret students. Tickets are available at the door for $10.
Instructor Jaunelle Celaire, is the assistant Professor of Voice at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She enjoys a musical career as a soloist, conductor and performer. She has made appearances throughout Brazil, Canada and Europe singing varied repertoire from opera to cabaret.
