RE-ISSUE OF DONNELLY TRAINING AREA EAST MOBILITY AND MANEUVER ENHANCEMENT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT and DRAFT FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT
The U.S. Army Garrison, Alaska has re-issued the EnvironmentalAssessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI) for three proposed mobility and maneuver enhancements at Donnelly TrainingArea (DTA) East, Alaska. The proposed enhancements would meet Army training missions and allow for continued sustainable military use ofDTA East. The enhancements would improve training facilities by increasing opportunities for paratroopers to conduct formational tactics and by providing a sustainable trail network and a hardened bivouac area for unit training. The EA evaluates the potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed projects.If you have already submitted comments, the Army will consider those as well as any additional comments you may have based on this updated EA version.
The revised EA and Draft FNSI, dated January 2008, can be viewed at http://www.usarak.army.mil/conservation/NEPA_DTA.htm. A Public Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.at the Delta Junction Community Center, 2291 Deborah Street.
