Photo of the day - March 6

This raven was caught basking in the sun at Fort Greely. When their more glamorous feathered friends are gone south, they tough it out with us even in the worst that Alaskan winters can hand out. They are very vocal and quite aerobatic, often folding a wing, tumbling upside down, bumping into one another in midair. Here, here for the raven.
