Alpha Omega Life Care Inc, Actions
Staff from Alpha Omega Life Care Inc spent three inspiring days at the 3rd Annual Tobacco Summit presented by the Alaska Tobacco Control Alliance at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitor Center.
We hold membership in the Coalition. The event was attended by 120 other enthusiastic members from all around the state--cities and villages--and facilitated by a dynamic team of professionals and knowledgeable presenters.
Then, on the weekend, Alpha Omega received a shipment of --count ‘em--three and a half TONS of food for distribution to qualified recipients in the Interior. That caseload has been steadily increasing--little surprise there--and will continue to do so. Fortunately, available food for distribution has increased as well. Alpha Omega Life Care Inc has, as one of several Board of Director mandated missions, that of Hunger Abatement, and is an active member of the Alaska
Food Coalition. We hope that the community is aware that the Agency
receives no wages, salary, or other remuneration for the Hunger Abatement efforts--our personal and professional lives are devoted to service.
On Monday, a committee from the Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Special Education visited and listened to the community comment upon services. We were there too.
On Tuesday, Alpha Omega Life Care Inc and guests attended the Flint Hills Resources Golden Heart Awards 11th Annual Reception, recognizing volunteers in the community. Judith Farrow and Bruce Marden were nominees, and the horse doovers were spectacular!
Alpha Omega Life Care Inc continues to be overwhelmingly busy serving the community. If you are able, stop by the office in order to become acquainted and learn of our service menu--then tell us how much time you are willing to volunteer. Thank you.
