Livestock Workshop Scheduled for February 3rd
Dr. Milan Shipka, Livestock Specialist with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will be in Delta on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 to conduct an informal livestock workshop from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the CES Conference Room in the Jarvis Office Center.
Main focus will be on beef cattle with application to other species as well. Milan will discuss animal nutrition, body condition scoring, and reproduction, with a Question and Answer session towards the last half hour of the workshop. This class is designed for current producers as well as those individuals interested in livestock production. Ideal for 4-H and FFA students.
Milan will plan another livestock workshop for Delta in April, please consider topics of interest that he might address at this later date.
This is a free workshop, however registration is required to confirm a space. Please contact the CES office in Delta at 895-4215 or email cmroden@alaska.edu . We will need a phone number and mailing address.
Registration deadline is Monday, Feb 1, 2010.
